PAUT FOR THICKNESS OF 200mm

Good day!
May I ask is it possible to PAUT a 200mm thickness by 75mm dia. cal. block and hit a FBH with 0.4 to 1mm diameter using 0 degree longitudinal focal law. If yes, what specification of probe or wedges can be used?
Currently, I'm having a hard time locating the said FBH. I've tried using a 4MHz and 2.25Mhz probe for this.

Yes, it is possible; the video shows the use of 32 e- 0.5 pitch 10 mm elevation 5 MHz probe, standard 50 mm dia ALCOA blocks made of steel

the deepest FBH is at ~252 mm, for FBH 1.6 mm in the blocks the Gain is 38 dB

for 1 mm FBH the gain should be increased with 8...10 dB

for 0.4 mm FBH the gain should be increased with 24...26 dB

Having in mind that the analogue Gain of the instrument shown in the video is 100 dB there is enough spare in order to reach the needful sensitive over entire range w/o a problem

First of all you will be limited by the grain size of the material that can limit detection altogether.
Assuming that the material is fine grain, them use larger probes that produce a smaller beam spread.
I would first try a conventional 5 MHz, 0.5 inch probe.
