Can someone explain to me how the pulse width of a transducer is measured?

Hello,
It's explained in EN 12668 part 1. Just be careful to quantify the pulse width based on pulser type: Spike or square, they are pretty different and have their own specific benefits.

Hi Andres, as Philippe mentioned before, check EN 12668 but part 2 for probes has the specifications. You can also see ASTM E1065/E1065M − 14. Be aware that the pulse duration is usually measured at -20dB or 10% drop of the absolute value of the signal. The absolute value could mean a small error is you don't take it into account. Check Fig A5 of the ASTM E1065. Regards. Henry

The ASTM E1065 is FIG. A4.1 Time Responses (Waveform Duration) page 11.
I have created a Figure where the calculated pulse is about 0.35 us. Note that the red dotted line is the absolute value of the RF signal. Pulse width is from where that absolute value goes above 10% of the maximum until it drops below 10% of the maximum (i.e. -20 dB).
