Computed Radiography

Dear All,

Has anyone used any form of Portable Computed Radiography? More specifically for use as NDT weld inspection in the oil and gas industry. Any advice / criticism / advantages / disadvantages of this type of equipment would be much appreciated. I am particularly interested in the General Electric Industrial Inspection Technologies CR 50P.

Thanks for your time.

Re: Computed Radiography
Hi,
We have had Flat panel technology in use couple years. How ever, we use direct radiography but not CR- plates. There was some items need solved before we got IQI sensitivity within EN requirements, but nowadays it's working wery well.
We have been tested CR- plates also, but systems are allmost as film radiography. Means we need several plates and the plates need reading process after the exposing. Only cemical problems are exclused. The CR- plates need 5- 10 times less radiation dose than films, so exposing times are shorter.
Will be back to the scope
