Panametrics - Epoc-II

We have a Panametrics - Epoc-II which has suffered some electronics damage on one of the internal circuit boards. When we contacted our local representative, we were told that Panametrics (GE) no longer support this UT scope, therefore we cannot purchase a replacement circuit board, nor could they repair it. This is such a good UT scope, we hate to give it up. Does anyone out there have the circuit schematics for the 3 or 4 boards inside this scope. If so, we can make the repairs ourselves.

An alternative would be to find another damaged Epoc-II and swap out the boards. Anyone willing to sell a damaged scope would also be a great help.

Regards, Rich

Make sure you are talking to the right guy- Panametrics NDT was only briefly part of GE (They sold it when they bought Krautkramer) . Panametrics (GE sensing) is now just the Flow meter division of the old Panametrics company. The NDT Division is now part of Olympus NDT. Nothing like keeping it simple.

The EPOC II was (for its time) a pretty good scope, as you say. You may find that third party people will be able to fix it, certainly our (Sonatest) equipment of the same vintage is often easier to fix than the later equipment, since the less integrated parts then used tend to be still readily available. whereas later more specialised compenents have 'been and gone'

Good luck

Joe

Now they also offer buy-back scheme. EP4 series are really good. Why don't you have a look at their website.

Goodluck
