Code Case 2235 compliance

Somebody has developed a "videorecording" system able to record the GE PHASOR screeen in correlation with an encoder mounted on the PA probe. In other words, the encoder is used as a "trigger" for recording the screen display. They claim it is "CODE CASE 2235 COMPLIANT". What is the forum opinion?

Re: Code Case 2235 compliance
I don't believe that when the ASME committee stated that "the ultrasonic examination shall be performed using a device employing automatic computer based data acquisition" included a "movie" of the instrument screen! In my opinion "data" are "digitized UT signals in unprocessed form" and not a VGA output!

Re: Code Case 2235 compliance
Good day,

I dont think Phasor can give recorded Video presentation. It would be like this., recorded image of TOFD can be post processed for Interpretation in offline (after the test).

So, you can run the image of TOFD (D-Scan) along with A-scan. So it gives real time offline presentation.

With Warm Regards,

Re: Code Case 2235 compliance
Does it really allow to perform TOFD inspection?

Good day,

I dont know. But you can check equipment's technical specification with BS 7706.
