diagnostic film length

IS it true when calculating a minimum sfd, a rough rule of thumb is 1.1 * film length for gamma and for x-ray it is 1.5 * filmlength. This rule follows for gamma if you calculate it mathematically but not for x-ray. Could you enlighten me please

Re: diagnostic film length
That would be a very rough rule if you applied it.

Think about the effect of specimen thickness !

The thicker the specimen gets the less area you are
going to cover on each exposure.
