11,650 mm tube inspection

We have been asked to perform a test of tubes of 11,650 mm (0,4") diameters.
Has anyone experienced this kind of test with IRIS and/or RFT ?
Do so small probes exist ?

Thank you.

11.650 mm tube inspection
Dear Amedeo,

The Lixi Profiler can measure the total wall thickness of tubes whose diameter is less than 1mm. Your request was for tubing 11,650mm which mean 11.650mm. Sorry that I am not use to using a comma instead of a period.

Regards,

Joe Pascente

No info on wall thickness or tube material?
There is a micro turbine available for the IRIS System. This can inspect tubing down to +/- 8.5mm internal ID. Used with great results with the TC5700. The smallest RFT probe we use is a 10.5MM probe available from RDtech.

We have developed a laser-based tube inspection system that will operate in tubes to about 6.5 mm ID (0.260-ich)
The probe operates in straight tubes and the software generates a nice cross-sectional and "C"-scan image. You can check it out at www.visualogic.com

We can make ultrasonic probes with about 3mm diameter and very short pulse (about 50ns long, 20MHz medium frequency).

It is also possible to make such probes with transducer radiating in 90 degrees to the axe of the probe. You can find more information about our transducer on the following site:

Re: 11,650 mm tube inspection
Hello Amadeo,

why not testing the tubes (how many?) with eddy current technology? The diameter of 11.65 mm (inside/outside?) is not a problem, we have even smaller probes in stock. Please tell us something about the tube material, metal? Which?
