Standards for Eddy current testing

Dear all,

I have been looking for proper standards to be used for eddy current examination of thin walled stainless steel, nickel and copper tubes. The thickness ranges from 0.1 mm to 0.4 mm and outer diameter ranges from 2.5 mm to 40 mm. Can any one suggest existing standards to be used for testign of such tubes.
Also share you views on the achievable defect detection sensitivity in such tubes.
Suggestion of other complimentary NDT techniques such as ultrasonic immersion technique is also welcome.

There has been a great deal of effort (and personal investment) that has gone into the design of tubing probes for both ferro- and non-ferromagnetic materials. We have developed a line of probes, test instrumentation and software specifically for those applications. Currently, we have systems in place in SE Asia, US, Canada and Europe. We are also offering two seminars on RFT inspection methods in The Netherlands during the month of December. Please contact Mr. Franc Buijsen at f.buijsen@sendt.com for more information. Their website is www.sendt.com. If you care to contact me, I can provide you more information. Our website is:

Re: Standards for Eddy Current and Ultrasonic Testing
You may wish to refer to ASTM Specifications A-450 and E-426. Both of these specifications discuss the types of allowable eddy current and ultrasonic standards as well as their requirements. We utilize both methods here for examination of seamless stainless tubing, including nuclear instrumentation / "thimble tubing".

SITEX CPSERIES

Teledyne ICM’s CPSERIES has been designed with a view to revolutionizing the handling and perfor

mances of portable X-Ray sets. Despite having managed to halve the weight of similar portable X-Ray generators available on the market (while continuing to provide the same power output), the SITEX CPSERIES generators feature a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window, an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms (customized sizes are available upon request). Without compromising the robustness and reliability for which ICM products are renowned, the small size and light weight of the SITEX CPSERIES will radically change the way that you perform your RT inspections. And you will see a positive impact in terms of both quality and return on investment (ROI).
