MPT on cast iron

Is possible to do the MPT on caston iron (magnetic particle testing)? I do this answer because was a question on II level quiz....
I answered that do not possible to do MPT because caston iron is not ferromagnetic material...but correct answer saied that was possible......
I hope your suggestion....
Tanks and best regards...

Cast iron is ferromagnetic, and some stainless steels are also. The three elements that are ferromagnetic are iron, nickel and cobalt.

yes ,cast iron is ferromagnetic material and suit for PMI,and ferromagnetic material including iron, nikle, cobalt and relative self alloyed(such as carbon steel, alloyed str.steel etc.) not suitble for nonferrous( such as Al.copper, austain stainless steel).

We can do the MPI of cast iron. If you are not sure about any material that is ferromagnetic or not, just check with a small magnet (or with yoke) prior to inspection .
