I study TOFD. but I don't know that lateral wave.

what is lateral wave???

Hello Junho

The lateral wave in TOFD is the longitudinal wave which runs directly between the transmitting and the receiving probes just sub-surface. On the unrectified A-scan it appears (with the correct set-up) as the first RF pulse after the initial pulse (main bang). This shows as an alternating positive/negative-going cycles on the B-scan display.
