RT maximum thickness

What is the maximum thickness limit suggest to do radiography with Ir-192?.

I personally have seen Ir 192 used in China on 4 1/4" of steel. 2-2T was achieved. It was a very long exposure (Co 60 was not available) and serious attention must be paid to back scatter. 4 mev Linear Accelerator is now being used at that facility.

I think practical should replace maximum here as nobody has ever hung around long enough to find out.
