NDT Terminology: English to German

Can anyone help me with the translation of the following list of ten NDT terms? I realize that a translation site may be available, but I was hoping for a more technically-correct translation. Thank you.

reference standard
test block
electrical discharge machined (edm) notch
calibration standard
calibration block
ultrasonic test block
ultrasonic testing
eddy current testing
nondestructive testing
flat bottom hole

Reply by Udo Schlengermann:

It is not easy to find one-to-one translations, because synonyms are not equal in different languages.
Additionally some German words have Umlaut-vocals (vocals with diacritical marks) which cannot be transmitted in e-mails, usually then these words are written with an 'e'-extension to the vocal, e.g. Pruefung (testing).
But I will try a translation in accordance with European Standard EN 1330-4: Terms used in ultrasonic testing:

reference block
Vergleichskoerper
reference standard
Vergleichsnormal, Vergleichsnormal
test block
Testkoerper
electrical discharge machined notch
Funkenerosive Nut
calibration standard
Kalibrierkoerper, Kalibriernormal
calibration block
Kalibrierkoerper
ultrasonic test block
Testkoerper fuer die Ultraschallpruefung
ultrasonic testing
Ultraschallpruefung
eddy current testing
Wirbelstrompruefung
nondestructive testing
zerstoerungsfreie Pruefung
flat bottom hole
Flachbodenloch

Kind regards

You can find an Ultrasonic Testing Dictionary at:
http://www.ndt.net/article/az/ut_idxed.htm

reference standard = Vergleichskörper
test block = Vergleichskörper
electrical discharge machined (edm) notch = Spaltherstellung mittels Funkenerosionstechnik
calibration standard = Kalibrierkörper or Justierkörper
calibration block = Kalibrierkörper or Justierkörper
ultrasonic test block = Ultraschall-Vergleichskörper
ultrasonic testing = Ultraschallprüfung
eddy current testing = Wirbelstromprüfung
nondestructive testing = Zerstörungsfreie Prüfung
flat bottom hole = Sacklochbohrung or equivalenter Kreisscheibenreflektor

: flat bottom hole
: Flachbodenloch

This is the correct (direct) translation, but from the meaning regarding to NDT I would propose
Kreisscheibenreflektor (KSR).

Re: NDT Terminology: English to German
For lots of your terms you will find the correct translations in the european standard
prEN 1330 NDT Terminology
- part 4 : Terms used in ultrasonic testing.
- Part 5 : Terms used in eddy current testing
and so on...
Look for instance into the list of standards:

Some of the given translations above are not really correct, therefore it is wise to look into the papers of the prEN! For instance
reference block, reference standard, calibration block, test block, test standard are very often used in an incorrect mannor and then a translation is even harder as the german standard since years defines
Testkoerper
Vergleichskoerper
Justierkoerper
Kontrollkörper
very precise.
And the assignment to the english translation is mandatory given in the prEN 1330
