New Video: Ultrasonic Tomograph for Imaging of Concrete Structures by ACS
Overall

Really a nice NDT movie showing the application and the development of an equipment. Just wundering if Ultrasonic Testing of concrete is a big market and how many of this or adequate equipments could be sold.

Simply amazing! All praises for MIRA!

However, I do have some queries. From what I understood from the video, it can only visualize concrete slabs 2 meters thick. What if the concrete block is 10 meters thick? Is there a way to analyze it?

Best regards,
Deborah Hart

You can use the same idea, but the necessary power and the distance between the transducers must be larger. Probably the only realistic way is to use bursts and lock-in amplifiers.

SONOAIR - air-coupled Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection System

For highly attenuating materials, the performance of the system is critical. The ultrasonic sensors,
...
the scanning area and the system settings should be flexibly adapted to the test task and the material. These high expectations are met with the new and modular testing system SONOAIR. With the world’s first air-coupled phased-array UT inspection system SONOAIR we developed a technology that works with up to 4 transmitter and receiver channels with freely configurable square wave burst transmitters as wells as low noise receiving amplifiers.
