co2 Pitting 13 Chrome

I am trying to find out if anyone has had much experience with find CO2 pitting on 13 chrome material in full lengths of pipe and the method used to detect that pitting. I have about 16000 feet of pipe to look at with minor pitting .017" to .060" and I am having trouble with my signal to noise ratio just wondering if anyone out there knows or can help with this situation?

Ed,

Have you considered using LASER NDT to inspect the piping? The Laser-Optic Tube Inspection (LOTIS) process can reliably detect and quantify pitting with depths as shallow as +/-0.002" and pit diameters as small as 0.005". Currently there are laser probes built which can inspect piping up to 5.4" ID. Not sure what size your piping is?
