Focused ultrasonic transducers

Does anyone know of a mathematical solution to the beam intensity at the focal point of an ultrasonic transducer for pulsed operation. The equation in Ultrasonic testing of materials by Krautkramer does not seem to work.

I am not sure if the equation is the same but in the Panametrics catalogue (found on their website that is linked to from ndt.net) there is a section on increased sensitivity by focusing. They indicate the gain as a function of focal length over near field length then plot the relative increase in signal amplitude for a point target (on axis). They also note on the plot that the amplitude from a small defect cannot exceed the amplitude from a flat plate. This suggests that the amplitude gain recorded will be a function of the target size.
If it is a quantitative measure you are trying to calculate (e.g. units of pressure or energy) I differ to others for the equations.
