Search ultrasonic modelling software for NDT

Hello,

I'm a futur engineer.
For a study I'm looking for sofwares which could simulate the propagation of ultrasonics waves into a simple structure (plates or pipes) made with an elastic or viscoelastic material.
The structure has to be coupled with fluids.

At first sight, I thought at Femlab, Wave2000 or Disperse. Am I true ?
Where should I found more informations on the way they simulate the fluid-solid coupling ?

Do you know other sofwares that could simulate that case ?

Thanks a lot for any information you could give me.
Best regards

Re: Search ultrasonic modelling software for NDT
Vincent,

Our company (Physical Acoustics Corp.), has developed software that allows you to calculate Phase and Group velocity dispersion curves for elastic plates with different fluids on both sides. If this is the type of software that you are looking for, please contact me and I will discuss this further with you.

Richard

Re: Search ultrasonic modelling software for NDT
Raelly an interesting subject.

We are also on the search for a good solution.
But it should be a commercial one.
Not an academic, but a commercial available one.
And a code which can be used by a simple level II inspector and not by a specialist for numerical mathematics.

There are nice codes available at universities - here for instance AFIT & EFIT (Ultrasound) from the GH Kassel, Prof. Langenberg or MAFIA (Electrical Fields, Eddy Current...) from TU Darmstadt. But where is a commercial software distributor available, who cares for the needs of the customer.

So finally the remaining product is somewhat like CIVA, a "something" assembled from lot's of different sources, with a lousy user interface, full of bugs,
lots of program crashes, if you miss the right button, but in general the only code which covers a little more than just primitive raytracing of single element transducers.

Where is the commercial available code to modell beam characteristics of Array transducers?
Where is a code to modell anisotropic materials, which can be used by a simple levle II inspector?
where is a code, where you can interface your CAD program and your inspection system to transfer the focal laws - with a customer support?

We checked the market and found nothing better then CIVA by CEA.

Or do you have a better idea? Finally I found out, that some other big players in NDT went the same way. Checked the market and found: Noone except CIVA to be good enough to really support the product and the customer.
Please note: it is not enough just to sell something.
We need a worldwide support with a hotline to place questions if we can't solve our virtual inspection problem.
With the current situation we are completely not satisfied. But hearing around, we found there are some groups in the world working on NDT Modelling. But nearly nobody is able to bring a satisfying product on the market, which can be really used by a non-specialist of numerical mathematics.
I would be happy if you can show methe opposite. But come to me. Don't ask me to come to you. Then you are not able to do support. And nothing is more important to be able to support the product.

nresolved asset integrity problem in the industry. Current methods for measuring wall thickness with liftoff, without removing insulation, all have severe limitations. Eddyfi introduces Lyft — a reinvented, high-performance pulsed eddy current (PEC) solution. The patent- pending system features a state-of-the-art portable instrument, real- time C-scan imaging, fast data acquisition with grid-mapping and dynamic scanning modes, and flexibility with long cables. It can also scan through thick metal and insulation, as well as aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel weather jackets. Who else but Eddyfi to reinvent an eddy current technique and redefine CUI programs. Got Lyft?
