High sensibilty inspection of Ni-base forgings

Hello everybody !
I have a little question about the immersion UT inspection of powder metallurgy forgings (Ni base alloys).
The required sensibility is FBHØ0.2mm at 80%FSH reject with a detection level at FBHØ0.14mm.
- We use calibration block with FBHØ0.4mm in RENE88 or 95.
Actually the settings give :
- FBHØ0.2mm > 80% (that give a FBHØ0.4mm +12dB sensibility)
- FBHØ0.14mm > -6.19dB of 0.2mm (39.2%)
- using a -2dB beam diameter that gives a gate level at 31.13% (-2dB of 39.2%)to assume required detection level.

Can we work with FBHØ0.4mm at 80% FSH ?
With :
- FBHØ0.2mm > 20%
- FBHØ0.4mm > 9.8%
and a gate level of 7.7% with beam diameter -2dB.

What do you think about this second method ?

David
