RT technique for

We have welded an Sweepolet with a 24inch dia pipe,i want to do RT for the joint,there is no access to place the flim inside since the pipeline is completed.

What technique should i use to get the maximum possible flim sensitivity

Currently we tried DWSI but the contrast is low and unable to define the indications

You can try using a more slow or ultra fine grain film than the one which you have used so far. Also, see if back-scattering effect is their in the location and try to reduce the same with lead sheets behind the film cassette.

I don't understand why DWSI produces unnacceptable results. The technique is really just the same as radiographing a butt weld. Are you placing the film in direct contact with the weld or is there some sort of increased objet - film distance? What is the wall thickness of the 24"pipe, maybe this is excessive.

Yes Mr.J Wallis,as you said the object to flim distance is 100mm,since the penumbera is masking the observations in the weld area,

Behalf of the gemorty of the component we are not able to place the film in contact with weld

I also would be interested in a photo.
I have recently completed a project (Sub-sea manifolds) and we had approx. 80 sweepolets ranging from 10" to 36" with no problem performing RT on any of them.
