REFERENCE CALIBRATION BLOCK

dear sir,
i am working as Qc eng in a construction company and our client is asking for calibration reference block for UT. can you please advice me about the use of that if still we have the IIW,and is the necessary to use while doing NDT.

Oh boy.

If you are performing UT yourself, or are responsible in any way... stop. Just stop the job right now and admit to your client that you clearly do not know what you are doing.

Now that I have that off my chest, if perhaps you are observing the UT inspection portion of the job from the sidelines and are merely just interested in the inspection process... Google. Before asking vague, dangerously ignorant questions on a public forum, simply do a search for UT weld inspection and reap the benefit of the seemingly endless source of knowledge the internet can provide from numerous reputable sources in the past 25 years.

The NDT experts are happy to help, provided you do some legwork on your own first.

Referance block is must required , on which the sensitivity of whole UT inspection is decided.
