Portable Alloy Analyzer

We intend to procure a portable alloy analyzer. The options available are Isotope or X-ray tube based. Based on experience could the readers suggest and advise for the selection of models.

Re: Portable Alloy Analyzer
Ali:

Based on what I have seen, the isotope based unit works well. It is lightweight and very portable and provides excellent accuracy. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a manufacturer. Hope this helps.

Re: Portable Alloy Analyzer
We sell the metorex equipment http://www.metorex.fi (Niton are one of our main competitors in this market - Both units have there advantages. )

As far as Isotope vs X-ray goes, Isotopes can work much better for some applications, But for most customers (unless they already have gamma sources for other purposes) the regulatory issues are a major problem. Since the X-ray based units have been available they seem to suit most customers better.
