Trainee/helper positions in UK?

Hello everyone,

Background:
UK
Fabricator/Welder
PCN level 2 MPI (welds) Exam completed but have no industrial experience to get full certification

I am a time-served Fabricator/welder who has recently completed MPI Course and exam but i need the experience to get the full certification.

I am hoping to Pursue my Penetrant testing course/Exam soon, but I am unsure in regards to what the industry is like for newcomers and whether it be worth me getting it to boost my chances of getting into NDT.
I have no contact/person to get me in a company. Has anybody got any insight/advice on If companies are needed NDT trainees and what i can do to improve my chances of obtaining a NDT job?

Thank you!

Which part of the UK are you from? and how far are you willing to travel (radius), this may help your replies.

Martin,
The British Institute for NDT has a section on their web-site showing NDT service companies. You could start by contacting some of these to see if they could offer you a position.
http://www.bindt.org/Buyers-Guide/NDT-Service-Inspection/

Alternatively do an online search for NDT service companies.
