Where does the 45,000 constant come from in the equation to determine longtitudinal field strength using the length/diameter ratio when using Magnetic Particle testing?

It is considered a rule of thumb. By using 45,000 while in contact with the coil and 43,000 centered the resultant flux density will be 70,000 lines per square inch (110 lines per square mm). To quote BETZ;"Extensive experimental work has shown that a field of 70,000 lines per square inch is a satisfactory field strength for almost all cases of coil magnetization.

ities such as UT, PAUT, ECT and many more. This new platform is based on a machined, powder-coated aluminum frame for shock-proofness, best sealing qualities and maximum heat dissipation. This is practical to extend the outdoor temperature range and/or to extend the power injected in the transducers. The PragmaPro is aiming at a very wide range of applications, such as weld scanning, corrosion mapping and composite testing.
