TR PROBE

TR probe hasn't Near field right ?.But when i'm scaning Caliberation block with diffrerent hole depth with TR probe, the first hole is in 4 mm depth and second hole in 8 mm depth ,the echo amplitude of 8 mm is higher than 4 mm depth Hole . why ?

There is no near field issue. The two crystals of TR probe are placed at slight angle to set the beam intersection at certain depth. This depth is normally given with the probe, but in general it is 10 mm, 15 mm or 20 mm depending on probe manufacturer. So you will get the maximum reflection between 10-15 mm depth
