AWS D1.5 clause 6.26.3.3

Hello colleagues
I have an issue of concern. I am employed to be QA in a fabrication shop making FCM box girders. The contract 051200 doc references states "D 1.5 AASHTO/AWS Bridge Welding Code" but no year. So I assume it is the latest 2015? I have been performing 25% UT after the fabricators QC techs perform 100% . There are 4 box girders in my shop and I don't know how many are already made in other shops for the same bridge. The QC UT were evaluating the indications per table 6.3 (tensile stress) criteria and then changes to 6.4 compressive. There reason is that clause 6.26.3.3 states "CJP groove web-to-flange shall conform to the requirements of table 6.4..... Now I read this in AWS D1.5 2008 but on line I saw that Michigan DOT underlined an errata to correct this to 6.3 tensile. ALso in clause 12.2.2 FCM or member components are tension members. ...12.2.2.2 welds to compression members of compression areas of bending shall not be defined as fracture critical" All welds that are on a FCM are tension welds in my opinion and the clause 6.26.3.3 should read table 6.3 tension criteria. I am concerned that the lowering of criteria to 6.4 may miss defects and especially since the code requires 6db indications to be recorded this will affect the future inspections of the bridge. So is clause 6.26.33 and good excuse to be less severe in the ut and go to table 6.4 compression????
