radiography piping fill with water

dear expert
Our, company is contacted to do radiography for the welding joint of thin joint of piping diameter from 2 to 20", but the problem is almost the piping is filled with water, I searched any standard for doing radiography but unfortunately I didn't find any way,
please share your experience

There aren't any standards that I know of for this situation but you can radiograph the joint.
Work out the equivalent thickness of steel for your water path, and then work out your achievable sensitivity and see if it meets code requirements.
HVL for water with IR192 is something like 70mm.
So your 2" with water would be equivalent to about an extra 10 mm of steel and the 20" about an extra 100 mm of steel.
Sensitivity might be ok for the 2" but 20" is no chance.
You would need to do test exposures to confirm sensitivity and you'd probably need 8 exposures to narrow your diagnostic length to improve the sensitivity for that region.

Laurie has given you good advise.
It is very, very hard to get a code compliant radiograph with the pipe filled with water.
If you can meet sensitivity and density requirements then you can interpret but you will need test shots on all diameters and thicknesses first.

2" pipe diameter- equivalent 10mm?
I made pipe with and without water with 4mm thickness and diameter 30mm - the same set up - density and sensitivity were similar, sensitivity hard to note

mances of portable X-Ray sets. Despite having managed to halve the weight of similar portable X-Ray generators available on the market (while continuing to provide the same power output), the SITEX CPSERIES generators feature a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window, an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms (customized sizes are available upon request). Without compromising the robustness and reliability for which ICM products are renowned, the small size and light weight of the SITEX CPSERIES will radically change the way that you perform your RT inspections. And you will see a positive impact in terms of both quality and return on investment (ROI).
