Tube life/target life

Hello all, I am new to this site but glad to be here. Where I work we are running a 450 tube to its max almost 24/7 apart from the time it takes to change out the part we are scanning. I am tasked with trying to find a way to prolong the life of these tubes but keep coming up short. I have a theory about the target being damaged over time and was wondering how difficult it is to replace just the target itself? Also, how expensive does this repair become? As of right now we are simply replacing the entire tube every 6 months or so at a bill of around $98,000 a pop. Any info would be greatly appreciated concerning this issue.
