the minimum number of exposures required for circumference butt weld?

hello! according to ASME BPVC V-article 2 2017, double wall technique--single wall view, it just states : a minimum of three exposures taken 120 deg to each other shall be made. if we just take 3 exposures, it may be not satisfied. then, how many exposures shall we take for circumference butt weld? in the ISO17636-1 appendix A, it states the recommended number of exposures which give an acceptable examination of a circumferential butt weld. why ASME BPVC V-article 2 didn't adopt these recommendation? or it just use the film density to guarantee the exposure numbers?
thanks

Yes, film density determines number of exposures

The test class determines the film's sensitivity and density, isn't it?

for a circumference butt weld, do I have to have a try to exposure the weld and then measure the density, then to evaluate the film is OK or reject as per density? is there any formula or experience I can use to calculate how many exposures is required for circumference butt weld?
thanks
