Hi Muru,
ISO9712 is an international standard for NDT Personnel Certification.
It is administered through several organisations, one of which is the UK NDT Institute, and their scheme administered by them in UK and some other countries is called pcn and conforms to the requirements of ISO9712

Dear Mr. Muru

I agree with comment of Mr. Godfrey that the ISO 9712 is a international standard, used and accepted by several countries to develop their own standards in order to qualify and certify of NDT personnel. So, each country has its own standard based in ISO 9712. If you want or need to certify in PAUT, you should look for the standard in your country that comply with ISO 9712 or to get this certification in other country near you. I don´t know if PCN standard is accepted as a international standard like ISO 9712.

It should be made clear that there is no such thing as "ISO 9712 certification" - ISO is not a certification body, what there are are a number of certification schemes such as PCN (UK), CSWIP,(UK - welding specific) AINDT (Australia), CGSB( Canada), COFREND (France), DgZfP( Germany), ISNT(India) etc. etc. which comply with ISO 9712. In principle all these schemes are, assuming they are issued by a reputable body, deemed to be equivalent. That does not necessarily mean of course that an employer will treat them all equally, any more than employers will treat any equivalent qualification from different schools equally. That is up to them.

These are all individual certifications, which you can take with you when you change jobs. As distinct from employer based certification schemes such as NAS-410D, EN4179 or SNT-TC-1A, where a new employer must re-certify you.

I wonder how many times we must answer this..

Joe,
Agreed! After answering this same question on the same forum for 2 decades or more you would think that people might start to use the search engine that Rolf has provided before repeating the same topic over and over gain.
(BTW...nice summary of the situation).
