The INCA project was running around the millenium and was focussed on the same topics now addressed in this project. If I look at the project description on the ACCURATe project homepage, I see not much new compared to the INCA project except the use of a NdYAG laser for excitation, which in case of CFRP had shown a lot of draw backs like that the Wavelength of the NdYAG lasers tend to harm the CFRP structure in contrast to the 10µm of CO2 lasers. Marc Dubouis at the time he worked for GE already in the late 1990ties showed that - if you want to use fiber optics to deliver the excitation pulse you should go for 3 or 3.4 µm wavelength. The result of the INCA project was that in 2007 Airbus invested in a first LUT equipment - LUCIE - in Nantes delivered by IPHOTON and TECNATOM, which is robotic based - see http://www.compositesworld.com/news/airbus-rd-groups-take-delivery-of-laser-ultrasound-system
followed by a second system at the Airbus industrial facilities in the BahIa de CAdiz Center (CBC)
