Specific Gamma Constant Intensity

One reference (Gamma Radiation Safety Study Guide, Second Edition, Joe Bush) gives the above for IR192 as 5.2 R/hour at one foot. Another (Gamma Radiography, AEA Technology) states 5.9 R/hour at one foot. Can anyone give a good reference that might tell me which is correct or at least explain the discrepancy?

Thanks,

Hello Bill!

The correct exposure rate is 5.9R/Hr/Ci @ 1'. This is the rate I've always used. Kodak gives the rate as .55R/Hr/Ci @ 1 meter. Do the math and it works out. Folow this link:
