Open Shop radiography

Hi, we are looking at a future job that will not fit within our x-ray chamber. The likely hood is that we will need to do "Open Shop" radiography. We have all the necessary safety procedures in place but we are not sure if we need to notify the HSE prior to commencement. IRR17 states that when performing "Site Radiography" the contractor must be informed 7 days before commencement, but we're not sure whether or not "Open Shot" radiography within a controlled area (our workshop) comes into the same category.

We carry out site radiography sometimes in our own company’s weld shop if it won’t fit in the rad compound, but we always make sure we get 7 days notice in writing from our boss, that way everyone’s covered if there are any questions asked.
