ASME RAD Ref. Code Penetreted Thickness.

With regards ASME V article 2, estimated penetrated thickness (WT+excess metal), shall not exceed the maximum stated by the referencing code.

Could anyone advise which sections of ASME B31.3, VII and IX, that this information can be found.

Hi John.

If your question is related to T-276.2 (a), in ASME V:

 -See the definitions for nominal thickness and weld
   reinforcement, in the applicable codes.

 -RT is not required in ASME VII.

 -For ASME B31.3. See the symbols "L" and "F" in the
tables 341.3.2 and K341.3.2, respectively.

 -For ASME IX. RT may be used for welder qualification or
  welding operator and, for these qualifications, the weld
  reinforcement is not considered; therefore this value
will be 0

If you use ASME VIII Div 1, you should consider UW-35 in general; but you should keep in mind that UW-35 may be modified by another paragraph of this division (as an example: see UHT 84)
