Hello guys

Help me please, sorry before. I already posted to thermal spray forum but no answer.

i have case that my stellite 1 HVOF spray already done with thickness 180 - 270 microns. But my customer want to do red dye penetrant testing in coating spray. This is the 1st time i do red dye penetrant testing in coating spray.
i attach photo, my penetrant testing in to coated part result
i wanna ask, is this method (red dye penetrant testing) is suitable to spray coating ??

thank you

Dear,

PT isn`t usual for any porous coating.

so check ASTM norm E1417

6.8.2 Surface Coatings—All coatings and other surface
conditions, such as, paint, plating, corrosion, etc. shall be
removed from the area to be examined prior to penetrant
examination. The penetrant examination shall precede any
surface finish, such as anodize, except for inservice parts that
may be examined without removing the anodize.

FMC/TFM

Next generation for Phased Array UT is here now with FMC/TFM! Have higher resolution imaging, impr

oved signal to noise ratio, characterize, size and analyze defects better with access to several wave mode views and save raw FMC data for higher quality analysis.  Some of the benefits are:
  • Beautiful Image! Easier to understand what you're looking at
  • Completely focused in entire image or volume
  • Much easier to define setups before inspection
  • Easier to decipher geometry echoes from real defects
  • Oriented defects (e.g. cracks) are imaged better
  • See image from different wave modes from one FMC inspection
  • FMC data can be reprocessed/analyzed without going back to the field

SITEX CPSERIES

Teledyne ICM’s CPSERIES has been designed with a view to revolutionizing the handling and perfor

mances of portable X-Ray sets. Despite having managed to halve the weight of similar portable X-Ray generators available on the market (while continuing to provide the same power output), the SITEX CPSERIES generators feature a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window, an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms (customized sizes are available upon request). Without compromising the robustness and reliability for which ICM products are renowned, the small size and light weight of the SITEX CPSERIES will radically change the way that you perform your RT inspections. And you will see a positive impact in terms of both quality and return on investment (ROI).
