Subsurface cast defects detection

Hi guys, Are there any good technique/information to detect subsurface cast defects as casting?
Material is 304,316, DSS,SDSS,

I am seeking PAUT, TT, ET something that area, but can not get information.

thanks,

Dear Orita,

We are working with quite sucessful with ET. Related to your question our first question is always how deep we have to penetrate the material(s)? In other words: What is the actual wall thickness to be covered by any NDT method?

The best way to resolve your problem is to contact a local NDT company. Using a drawing our visualy inspecting the part, they would be able to guide you with the best possible way to isnpect your parts.

Radiography Method is a widely used NDT method for detection of sub-surface defects in casting, particularly in DSS & SDSS type materials.

surface roughness is about Ra50~100. It may makes testing difficult.
Are there any data what roughness can be done testing?

thanks,

ISAFE3 Intrinsically Safe Sensor System

ISAFE3 intrinsically safe sensor system of Vallen Systeme is especially targeted at the petrochemica
...
l - as well as oil and gas transportation industry. The sensor system is designed for permanent monitoring or periodic inspection tasks. Sensors are available for different AE-frequency ranges optimized for corrosion and fatigue crack detection and other applications. The ISAFE 3 sensor system consists of an AE-sensor (model ISAS3) certified according to ATEX/IEC for installation in zone 0, gas group IIC, IP68, 20 to +60 °C, and a signal isolator (model SISO3) certified for installation in zone 2. An ISAS3 sensor can be mounted in atmosphere or submerged, e.g. in water or crude oil. It is supported by mounting tools for temporary (magnets) or permanent (welded) installation. ISAFE3 supports automatic sensor coupling test and can be used with any AE signal processor supporting 28V supply at 90 mA peak, e.g. Vallen Systeme ASIP-2/A.
