Structural Concrete Flaws

I am looking for a NDT tool/system for use in field test.

Anyone has any idea for those for detecting flaws in concrete member?

Thanks a lot

Re: Structural Concrete Flaws
Dantec Dynamics offers Digital Image correlation which could be used to identify loose concrete when tested under load. Pls contact us if you need any further details.
Best regards
Jörg

Re: Structural Concrete Flaws
Thanks Ranjeet.

Do you mean bonding between steel reinforcement and concrete?

Cheers.

You can try Non Contact Ultrasound for this application. Contact Dr. Mahesh Bhradwaj of Ultran Grpup, USA, who can help you in this. www.ultrangroup.com

what information are you wanting from your inspection? this will help determine what type of test is best for your application.

Re: Structural Concrete Flaws
cracks in reinforced concrete beam...

if possible, loss in prestressing wires.

thanks in advance.

I think there are many other reasons too. Firstly its important to know what member is it---is it under vibrations or in an area where settlement can occur and it has not been taken into design, size etc.
While loss in prestress is cumbersome to measure, in my view if its a beam for example, regular deflection in comparison to actual designed should be made, ckeck for the bearings condition, if the member is too thick, then the temperature difference between the two surfaces. Thus as rightly pointed out through an earlier comment, type of member, and purpose will guide in spotting the cracks and then offcourse the ladder and the magnifying glass tell a lot more.

Digital Radiography for Concrete Inspection

In the construction industry (buildings, bridges) there is a need for fast non- destructive means,
...
most commonly to locate targets (Pipes, Re-bars, Conduit, Fittings etc.) within concrete structures prior to drilling, cutting or coring. Measuring reinforcements is also performed for static calculations and to detect corrosion problems and damages. Cracks and voids can also be visualized. The examinations are not only restricted to concrete constructions; they can also be applied to reinforced masonry made of natural stones or bricks.

Lyft™: Pulsed Eddy Current Reinvented

nresolved asset integrity problem in the industry. Current methods for measuring wall thickness with liftoff, without removing insulation, all have severe limitations. Eddyfi introduces Lyft — a reinvented, high-performance pulsed eddy current (PEC) solution. The patent- pending system features a state-of-the-art portable instrument, real- time C-scan imaging, fast data acquisition with grid-mapping and dynamic scanning modes, and flexibility with long cables. It can also scan through thick metal and insulation, as well as aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel weather jackets. Who else but Eddyfi to reinvent an eddy current technique and redefine CUI programs. Got Lyft?
