There are a few to to consider. What is the thickness and what is the grain size for the inconel.

I have successfully ultraonically examined inconel for Dow Chemical using 60 and 70 degree focused refrcated longitudinal waves. The first thing is to design a mock-up of the welded component with holes and notches.

What type of cracking are you looking for? IGSCC, Mechanical, thermal...

Is this a fabrication examination or an inservice inspection?

These techniques work well with hastalloy, also.
