informative parameters in TNDT

based on literatures, there are 2 common pairs of informative parameters in TNDT; 1. the maximum absolute differential temperature signal & the time of its appearance, and 2. the maximum running contrast & the corresponding time. The question is, what's the rationalization for choosing these two pairs as inforamative parameters in TNDT?
