A negative has been a flaw in the foundations of NDT: flaw finding tests violate the Unit Measure axiom of probability theory in relation to statements about their reliability.

A positive has been the discovery and exposure of this flaw ( see http://www.ndt.net/article/v04n05/oldberg/oldberg.htm )

A negative has been the failure of the NDT community to heed this finding.
