Looking for a reading materials.

I came from IT background and just join NDT fields. It was very new for me. I had attended the RT, MT and PT course. But still left a lot behind. Maybe u guys out there can recommend me with some reading materials. for example: material science, NDT Engineering and etc. Pls don't miss out the author and book title. Thank you so much.

I can whole-heartedly recommend Prof J E Gordon's two books "New Science of Strong Materials" and "Structures". He writes in a wonderfully clear way using examples to illustrate the science from Violette Pionnet's bias-cut dress to the Parthian method of bow construction with everything in between. Both are clear insights into quire significantly deep understanding of material science.

Also highly recommended is Dr R Halmshaw's paperback "Non-destructive Testing". Once you read these intermediate books, then other more advanced works will suggest themselves to you.

Good luck and much enjoyment.

I can recommend some General Dynamics NDT Handbooks that are great for learning these areas of NDT. You can purchase them straight from the publisher PH Diversified. They are inexpensive and have question and answers after each chapter. You will want the PI series of Handbooks. I have attached a link to the website where you can order them. If you want more info on the books, feel free to email me.
