TWI is looking for an NDT Consultant with a strong background in the Aerospace industry to join our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Group. The position is at our technology centre in South Wales, which has state-of-the-art facilities and a full range of equipment, from basic instruments to the latest advanced systems to deliver our extensive research programme and meet our clients' needs. Our research priority is to improve accuracy, consistency and repeatability of NDT results through the application of advanced automation and robotic techniques.
Your key accountabilities will be the management of aerospace inspection projects and business development, with the freedom to influence and question current technologies. Utilising your specialist NDT knowledge and experience, you will be an innovative problem solver with the ability to work pro-actively with a team of engineers to find solutions and add value to projects. You will be flexible and resourceful in your approach and confident when presenting technical information to a variety of groups.
Ideally you will have a degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science discipline. You will have extensive experience of NDT composite and metal aerospace structures. Familiarity with advanced NDT technologies, automated systems and rapid area scanning is essential. Frequent travel will be required, both within the UK and internationally.
