Together with Uni Leipzig (prof. Grill) and a small german company we are trying to start a research&development project with the goal to develop device for contactless testing of pipes (or other similiar products) during production. The device should be suitable for production control (measurement of thickness, material properties and flaws) of plastic and probably also glass pipes immediately after the pipe was formed.
This project is based on the ideas and the experience collected by Optel, Prof. Grill and uses a novel idea, that should allow to measure relatively hot pipes. The first stadium of the project will cause costs of about 300 thousand Euro and will allow to build a prototype of the device. The ready-made device shouldn't be very expensive - the price can be comparable to the today devices using water coupled ultrasound.
We are searching industrial partners interested in financing such project and marketing of this device.
