NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT) INSTRUCTOR

SCHOOL OF Manufacturing & Automation

The School of Manufacturing & Automation at SAIT requires an individual to provide instructional services within the Non Destructive Testing (NDT) program. In addition, the incumbent will provide assistance in program development and planning as well as facilitate CGSB examinations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Know, understand, apply and relate to students the essential facts, concepts, procedures and principles in areas of expertise designated by the curriculum, using a variety of instructional techniques, which promote learning and personal development.

· Create lesson plans, exams, quizzes and modules for student use

· Assist in the development of curriculum

· Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years recent NDT experience accompanied by the completion of Level II in MPI, LPI and RT. Preference will be given to candidates possessing all five current CGSB level 2 certificates (RT, UT, ET, MT, PT). Additional trade certifications, degrees, metallurgical/materials training and familiarity with ASME and CSA codes would be an asset. Previous experience in teaching or program development would be beneficial.

NOTE: This is a full time salaried position to June 30, 2008 with a possibility of extension.
