Job Description
Perform ultrasonic and eddy current testing, and analyze x-ray film, of a wide variety of complex structural members, safety of flight items, both critical and non critical, to detect internal defects.
Set-up, standardize and operate multi-channel, multi-axis (up to 10 axis'` computerized, ultrasonic, data-acquisition systems for inspection of monolithic metallic parts, and composite assemblies (both metallic and non-metallic).
Evaluate data and characterize all anomalies utilizing alternate non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and record all non-conformances, including preparation of sketches and lay-outs.
Assist NDT Engineering in establishing techniques and providing on-the-job training for newly assigned employees.
Effectively operate all equipment for which certifications are held.
Check equipment for proper functioning and report malfunction to leadman, supervisor or Maintenance.
Keep own work area clean and orderly.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will typically have a two year associate degree in NDT or equivalent formal training and experience and one year minimum as a "B" inspector (Level 1) or equivalent formal training and experience.

At least a Level II Ultrasonic Certification is preferred.
This job opening is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. and Local 848 of the UAW.
