There is a wide range of various epoxy resin. Some of them are viscous liquids in elevated temperatures and are quite good as shear wave couplants.
There is however one practical problem with epoxy couplants.
Liquid couplant at 100C will be like a stone in 0C. When cold it can glue your transducer to the object.
