Etching of Titanium

Hello all,
Im chasing the acid type used for etching smeared Ti. I have a
situation were grit blasting has been utilised to remove product from
internal vessel walls and we think the defects have been smeared from the
blasting can anyone tell me which chemical types are suitable to render the
defects detectable by penetrant methods .

Thanks

Grit for blasting titanium pipe
Dear sir
Can any body tell me what grit material (Al or Stainless steel) to be used for blasting titanium surface. These pipes will be used in corossive environment hence iron contamination on the surface is not allowed.

Regards
