Welcome Richard D. Roberts on the Panel of Experts

We are pleased to welcome Richard D. Roberts on the Panel of Experts
of the NDT.net Forum.
He wrote: 'I would be happy to participate in panels discussing Advanced
Ultrasonics and/or LASER Based NDT.'

Richard D. Roberts joined QUEST Integrated, Inc., as the National NDT
Services and Equipment Manager in 1996, primarily responsible for
implementation of new laser-based Nondestructive Testing (NDT)
technologies developed by QUEST into the various industries around the
world. Richard has over 13 years experience applying automated NDT
instrumentation in extreme and harsh environments such as the Alaskan
oil fields, Russian oil fields, Asia, South America, Mexico, and across
North America. His training and experience in advanced automated
ultrasonics has allowed him to participate in the nuclear,
petrochemical, shipping, pulp/paper, and military industries. He has
been employed by many leading NDT/Engineering companies over the years
such as Tuboscope Vetco International, ABB/Amdata, Combustion
Engineering, and Sonic Systems International.

oved signal to noise ratio, characterize, size and analyze defects better with access to several wave mode views and save raw FMC data for higher quality analysis.  Some of the benefits are:
  • Beautiful Image! Easier to understand what you're looking at
  • Completely focused in entire image or volume
  • Much easier to define setups before inspection
  • Easier to decipher geometry echoes from real defects
  • Oriented defects (e.g. cracks) are imaged better
  • See image from different wave modes from one FMC inspection
  • FMC data can be reprocessed/analyzed without going back to the field
