2D array probes

Dear Forum members
Can anyone help me in distinguishing function of linear and 2D array phased array probes and the equipment requirements for them. Can both types of probes be used in OMNISCAN MX .

Bangash:

Try looking at our Advanced Applications book "Advances in Phased Array Ultrasonic Technology Applications", Olympus NDT –published Q1, 2007. You can find it on our web site, www.olympus-ims.com. It has several examples of 2D array inspection using OmniScan.

Some basic 2D arrays can be controlled by the OmniScan but the most suitable equipment for this is the Focus LT controlled with the TomoView software.
