UT gauges

I have a need for a UT gauge that can do the following:

Display on the UT gauge screen the isometric drawing of the pipeline or vessel that is been tested.

Indicate on the isometric drawing spots that have depleted beyond a set value (wall thickness).

Download both readings and drawing onto a computer.

The UT gauge should be able to store a minimum of 20,000 data.

Please any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Re: UT gauges On my knowledge, there is no UT gauge available on market that can do what you want (isometric drawings on UT gauge).

However, you can use any UT gauge that have a datalogger, and then transfer the thickness data in a computer that has installed a specialized Erosion / Corrosion software - for example UltraPIPE from Krautkramer. This software can do all you want - including interface with AutoCAD for viewing and editing the isometric drawings. It can also upload site data (thickness monitoring location) for the UT operator.

If you want to know more about this software go to www.ultrapipe.com

Re: UT gauges Willy,

You should really look at the Krautkramer DMS 2 use with the UltraPIPE software program. All equipment TML's are set-up in UltraPIPE, sent to the DMS 2 allowing the inspector to take the readings then send the readings back to the program. The new data is used to re-calculate corrosion rates, inspection and retirement dates for the equipment.

Old readings from the previous survey can be uploaded for an on the fly evaluation of old vs. current readings. A-Scans, B-Scans and MicroGRID attachments can also be stored and analyzed in UltraPIPE.

Contact your local Krautkramer sales representative for a demonstration of the DMS 2 and visit the UltraPIPE web site at www.ultrapipe.com for information on the software.

The idea of dislaying the isographic on the screen is a good idea, but the displays used in thickness gauges, even though they are high resolution for the gauge, still are not adaquate for displaying iso drawings, markers and text.

Re: UT gauges Mr. MacChiourlu

There are many other very good corrosion thickness gages (with A-Scan display)on the market that are compatible with UltraPipe software. Some of these gages may have measurement features that the unit described below does not offer ... and I hope you will find the time to check out these other gages.

One of the rules for this wonderful Forum is: "Do not post advertisements for commercial products". It is unfortunate that some members do not adhere to this rule.
