Spott Video Inspection ( called SVI )

Dear Members of the NDT Community...

i am looking for a system called Spott - Video - Inspection
which is really new on the german NDT Market.

This system is probably more useful to test and detect faults
in Glas fibre reinforced plastic (GFK)
Carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFK)
Composite materials
Sandwich and honeycomb constructions
Titanium and aluminium coatings


The really short description about the technigue :

Active test method
Exposure of the parts (hull) with certain wave lengths (light)
Registration of all relevant datas
Software processing these datas into image files

Every Information about this NDT Method will be helpful.

Dear Mr Schnitger,

we are consultants for the industry regarding NDT exclusively with optical techniques (see www.honlet.com ; page still in a build-up process...)

My question to you:
Have you progressed in getting more information about SVI and what level of information or experience have you now? What did tell you (except the manufacturer, of course) this is a really new technique?
From what I have seen up to now I am not yet convinced that it is really new. Despite being an optimistic and positive person in this case I still feel an attempt to "sell" something existing as something "new", based on such experience in the past regarding optical methods. But I am ready to learn more and to join your opinion if that is still valid. Ultimately, the industrie finds out sooner or later what is going on but appreciates independent support in the selection process in order to avoid waste of time. So do we.
