Pipeline profile

I am looking for a tool able to determine the change of profile of the section inside a pipeline.

Access to the interior of the pipeline is very important also ability for the tool to travel inside of the pipeline during the trial and to negotiate pipeline bent.

The tool should be able to distinguish between bends and pipeline deformation.

The general specifications require to be achieved are:

-To give the profile of the inner diameter of the pipe.

-To measure the internal diameter at minimum 16 definitive points around the pipe section.

-Must be able to slide up the inside diameter of the pipe as it takes the measurements.

-Must be reasonably robust. The tool can be used in a hazardous environment.

-Must be easy to transport / carry.

-The tool is linked to a PC or to be able to acquire and store the data.

Regards

Claude

If you can send details on pipe diameter, amount of bending, envoronment and accuracy in measurements. Also need details whether you need automatic or manual scanning system. Fallon Ultrasonic dimension monitoring system which can give continous data and can store data on computer as it is computer control system. Please contact Dr. Maxfield at bruce@emat.com or Dr. Patel at fallon@netcom.ca for further asistance

Re: Pipeline profile
There are a lot of pipeline Geometry Caliper Tools available that should meet your needs. Try a search using Caliper Pigging.

Your profile says you are in Aberdeen - if so tray PSL Group

Can I ask how accuratly you can measure the geometry of the pipe ID? Is this a go/no-go type gage?

Thankyou,
Walter E. Wozniak

ISAFE3 Intrinsically Safe Sensor System

ISAFE3 intrinsically safe sensor system of Vallen Systeme is especially targeted at the petrochemica
...
l - as well as oil and gas transportation industry. The sensor system is designed for permanent monitoring or periodic inspection tasks. Sensors are available for different AE-frequency ranges optimized for corrosion and fatigue crack detection and other applications. The ISAFE 3 sensor system consists of an AE-sensor (model ISAS3) certified according to ATEX/IEC for installation in zone 0, gas group IIC, IP68, 20 to +60 °C, and a signal isolator (model SISO3) certified for installation in zone 2. An ISAS3 sensor can be mounted in atmosphere or submerged, e.g. in water or crude oil. It is supported by mounting tools for temporary (magnets) or permanent (welded) installation. ISAFE3 supports automatic sensor coupling test and can be used with any AE signal processor supporting 28V supply at 90 mA peak, e.g. Vallen Systeme ASIP-2/A.
